Ajit Kumar

Managing Partner (Member of IC)

Managing Partner and Member of the Investment Committee - Mr Kumar is responsible for the core operations of the Evolvence India platform including from strategy, investments and investor relations. Mr Kumar has over 27 years of hands-on experience in PE and VC investments. At his prior engagement at a multifamily office in the Middle East, he was responsible for managing a diversified portfolio where he allocated capital to more than 130 PE and VC funds, direct and co-investments across various sectors, themes and strategies in India and other geographies. Mr Kumar has served on the boards and the sub-committees of various public and private entities in BFSI, steel, construction and engineering, chemicals, education and service sectors. Mr Kumar has also been involved in several middle market M&A, consolidation and management buyouts. Mr Kumar holds an MBA from London Business School. Mr Kumar represents Evolvence India on the boards of several portfolio companies including SK Finance, AgroStar and Suryoday. Mr Kumar also represents Evolvence India on several investment committees and advisory boards of underlying funds

Rohit Batra

Managing Partner (Member of IC)

Managing Partner and Member of the Investment Committee - Mr Batra is responsible for the core operations of the Evolvence India platform including from strategy, investments and investor relations. Mr Batra has over 17 years of experience in PE, consulting & institutional broking. Prior to joining Evolvence India, Mr Batra was an analyst at Bond & Pecaro, a boutique US consulting outfit with a niche focus on appraisals of media assets as a part of M&A in the broadcasting, print and cable industries. Mr Batra graduated with a B.A. in Economics and International Affairs from George Washington University, Washington D.C., USA. Mr Batra represents Evolvence India on the boards of several portfolio companies including ANSR, Rebel Foods, Infra.Market and HomeLane. Mr Batra also represents Evolvence India on several investment committees and advisory boards of underlying funds

Abhishek Chandra

Partner (Member of IC)

Partner and Member of the Investment Committee - Mr Chandra is responsible for overseeing co/direct investments with a focus on financial services, consumer and technology. He has over 14 years of experience in private equity, consulting and banking. Prior to joining Evolvence India, Mr Chandra was an Assistant Vice President at MCap Fund Advisors, a private equity fund with a focus on sectors like Financial Services, Consumer, Green Solutions and IT & ITeS. Before MCap, Mr Chandra worked with Shelters, as a Citibank associate working in the credit department. He has an M. Com and an MBA from SP Jain Center of Management, India. Mr Chandra represents Evolvence India on the boards of several portfolio companies including Infra.Market, AgroStar, SK Finance and MoneyView.

Anil Talreja

Managing Director — Finance & Compliance (& IR)

Mr Talreja is responsible for overseeing finance, accounting and compliance operations at Evolvence India.  Prior to Evolvence India, Mr Talreja worked in the fund operations team of Vistra ITCL (India) Limited (formerly known as IL&FS Trust Company Ltd) in India, in the finance team of Uttam Galva Steel Ltd and internal audit team of BPCL. Mr Talreja has over 13 years of experience in fund operations, accounting, taxation, auditing and controllership in India. He holds a Master’s degree in Commerce, qualified Chartered Accountant (“ACA”) from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and cleared company secretary exams from The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Rini Mitra

General Counsel

Ms Mitra is responsible for overseeing and advising on all legal aspects pertaining to fund raising, investments and providing operational and compliance support at Evolvence India. Prior to Evolvence India, she was a Partner at Desai & Diwanji, where she headed their Investments Funds practice. Before Desai & Diwanji, she has worked as a Principal Associate in General Corporate and Investment Funds team of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. Ms Mitra has also worked as Associate Vice President with IDFC Alternatives Limited. She has over 10 years of experience in fund formation, setting up of investment platforms, M&A and private equity transactions and deal making, corporate and commercial advisory. She graduated with a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (India)

Vinesh Semlani

Vice President — Finance

Mr Semlani is responsible for supporting core operations around finance, accounting and compliance at Evolvence India. Prior to Evolvence India, Mr Semlani worked in the fund accounting team of Basiz Fund Service Private Limited where he was responsible for PE fund accounting, auditing, NAV calculations and related investor queries. Mr Semlani has over 9 years of experience in PE, mutual fund accounting and NAV validation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and qualified ACA from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Deepak Harwani

Associate — Finance

Mr. Harwani is responsible for supporting finance and compliance operations at Evolvence Equity Partners. Prior to Evolvence Equity Partners, Mr. Harwani worked as Private Equity Senior Fund Accountant in Citco Shared Services Private Limited, where he was responsible for end to end accounting operations for Private equity funds, including NAV calculations, auditing and handling investor queries. Mr Harwani has over 3 years of experience in Private Equity Fund Accounting. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and qualified ACA from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
